Renovation of an educational facility in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project Description The Library of the Health Sciences (942) and Human Resources Building (907) are served using individual chilled water system(s) and/or zone-based direct-expansion systems for comfort cooling and humidity control. Buyer has experienced multiple failures of the cooling system equipment and has determined that this equipment has reached the end of its anticipated useful life. This Project will replace both 250-ton water-cooled chillers in the Mechanical Room in Building 942 basement with two (2) new 200-ton air-cooled variable-speed chillers on the Building 942 roof. This entails demolishing the existing chillers, cooling towers, chilled and condenser water pumps, and piping as necessary. The Project will also modify the existing chilled water piping, electrical raceways, and controls to connect the new chillers. This Contract consists of renovating the existing chilled water and condenser water systems to install new chillers, pumps, valves, and instrumentation. This Project is located at: 1750 W Polk St, Chicago- Building 942, Library of Health Sciences Minority and Women Business Enterprise Goals The University of Illinois has established diversity goals for participation by BEP certified vendors as prime contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers in accordance with the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, and Persons with Disability Act. Please refer to Bid Form Document 00 40 00 for additional information and instruction. Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion Business Enterprise Program certification is the basis for determination of diversity status. Only those vendors who are certified by the Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion as of the final day of the bid opening Cure Period will be considered in determining whether the vendor meets the participation goal. Utilization of WMBE certified vendors must designate full participation as either a MBE or WBE when split goals are identified for purposes of meeting diversity goals. WMBE value may not be split between MBE and WBE. Vendors that are both BEP and VBP certified may only be counted towards either the BEP or VBP goal, but not both. The goals for this project are as follows ("N/A" in "Combined Goal" column means split goals are in effect and "N/A" in "Split Goals" column means combined goals are in effect for each specific division of work). Minority and women business enterprise goals are for each division of work and may vary by project. Specific diversity goals for each project are identified within the Bid Documents.
