Site work and new construction of a religious / funeral development in Jennings, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a religious / funeral development; and for site work for a religious / funeral development.
Scope of Work: Contractor shall provide all labor and materials in order to construct a new shed at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Specifications: This project is to provide a storage shed for the housing of maintenance equipment. The shed shall be constructed on existing concrete slab within the currently fenced maintenance area. See Attachment E - Site Pictures. The new shed's dimensions shall be as follows: twenty feet (20') wide by thirty feet (30') long by twelve feet (12') high. The shed shall be constructed with all metal galvanized framing. Sides, doors, and roof panels shall match the existing fence and storage areas. The existing areas are Berridge Evergreen. For any bid submitted in the amount of $50,000 or more, a bid security (insurance company, bank money order, certified check, or cashier's check) must be included with the bidder's submission in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including base bid and additive alternates, if any) and shall become the property of the agency in the event the contract and bond are not executed within the time set forth in the bid solicitation. Failure to do so will remove the bid from consideration. Please refer to Attachment A: Special Terms and Conditions page four (4) for complete details of this requirement. Deadline to receive written inquiries: 11/16/2023 Deadline to answer written inquiries: 11/22/2023 IF THE BID IS $50,000 OR ABOVE, a bid security must be attached (insurance company, bank money order, certified check or cashier's check made payable to "State of Louisiana - Department of Veterans Affairs") in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including base bid and additive alternates, if any) and shall become the property of the Agency in the event the contract and bond are not executed within the time set forth above. If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent (10%) of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide, or by an insurance company that is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents and is licensed to write surety bonds. In addition, the bond shall be written by a surety or insurance company that is currently licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana. The undersigned further agrees, if awarded the contract, to execute and deliver to the Office of State Procurement at the time the contract documents are executed, a Performance Bond (made payable to "State of Louisiana - Department of Veterans Affairs") with Power of Attorney in an amount equal to the contract sum (one-hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract) and agrees that this bond will be secured by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent (10%) of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Insurance. In addition, the bond shall be written by a surety or insurance company that is currently licensed to do business in the state of Louisiana. Also, to be provided at the same time is a Labor and Materials Payment Bond (made payable to "State of Louisiana - Department of Veterans Affairs") in an amount equal to one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Project Completion: The contractor shall perform fully, entirely, and in satisfactory manner the work contracted, within the number of calendar days stipulated in the proposal and the contract. Time will be assessed against the contractor beginning with the date of the notice to proceed. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $100.00 per day will be assessed for each and every day the project remains incomplete beyond the established completion date. Guarantee: If, within one (1) year after the date of substantial completion or within such longer period of time as may be prescribed by law or by the terms of any applicable special guarantee required by the contract documents, any of the work is found to be defective or not in accordance with the contract documents, the contractor shall correct it promptly after receipt of a written notice from the agency/owner to do so unless the agency/owner has previously given the contractor a written acceptance of such condition. The agency/owner shall give such notice promptly after discovery of the condition. Withdrawal of bids: The undersigned agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the bid opening.
