Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Estimated Cost 8.5 million A RENOVATION OF THE INTERIOR TO INCLUDE NEW USES CONSISTING OF A TRAINING SPACE, FARMERS MARKET, STORAGE, AND MECHANICAL SPACES. NEW INTERIOR FINISHES AND LIGHTING, ALONG WITH RAILINGS, EGRESS STAIRS, AND AN ELEVATOR ARE ALSO PART OF THE RENOVATION. AN EXTERIOR RENOVATION ALONG WITH THE ADDITION OF AN EXTERNAL EGRESS STAIR AND ASSOCIATED ACCESSIBLE RAMP WITH A CANOPY ABOVE. NEW AREAWAY BELOW GRADE, ALONG WITH ASSOCIATED SITE GRADING, DRAINAGE, UTILITIES, WALKWAYS, PARKING, AND LANDSCAPING. NECESSARY STRUCTURAL UPGRADES AND/ OR MODIFCATIONS. MEP/ FP SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS/ UPGRADES The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Renovation/Reconfiguration of building interiors and offices at the Former Chicopee Library and associated structural work. 2. New elevator and interior stairway connecting new entrance level to existing basement, first floor and mezzanine levels. 3. Infill of center mezzanine area to align with raised mezzanine levels at the north and south mezzanine wings. Reconstruct and refinish existing historic wood stairs from first floor to mezzanine. Reconstruct existing guardrails and handrails to be code compliant. Refinish existing wood stairs from first floor to basement level. 4. Hazardous Materials required for new work (i.e. asbestos, lead, mold remediation, and universal wastes). 5. Modify/replace MEP/FP, Telecomm, Security/Access Control for new configuration, including secure building access for staff. Project to include a new electrical system (i.e. switchgear, feeders, panels, rewiring of branch circuits, new electrical devices, etc.). 6. New LED lighting and controls. 7. New electronic security system and telecom 8. New Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heating and cooling with Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) systems. The existing hot water boiler system will remain with replacement of all piping, pipe insulation and fin tube radiators. 9. New floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, window treatments, and room signage throughout. 10. Refinishing of existing historic finishes including wood handrails and guardrails, wood pilasters (reinstalled) and columns. Wood interior door / interior window cornice (head) trim, and existing doors, frames and trim. 11. Replacement of doors hardware. 12. New handicapped accessible entrance at the northeast corner of the building with exterior ramp and stair access with canopy covering entrance and stairway. 13. Exterior stone / brick masonry repairs including exterior wall and stone roof edge reconstruction. Reconstruct exterior stone front entrance stair and railings. Remove existing concrete areaway at north side of entrance stair and patch in opening at stair cheek wall. 14. Install waterproofing below grade at exterior foundation surface. Demolish existing basement floor slab and install new concrete slab with vapor barrier. 15. Repairs to stairs, landings, and railings at Main Building west portico. 16. Site drainage improvements and associated site work. 17. New sump pump. 18. Extend emergency generator, teledata, spare conduit and gas line to feed existing Chicopee Former Library. 19. Accessibility upgrades are included throughout the Former Chicopee Library for compliance with 521 CMR MAAB regulations. 20. Sitework and utilities work including separation of storm and sanitary waste lines.
