The Board of Education of Skokie School District 68, hereinafter known as Owner, is accepting sealed bids for a Roof Replacement and Exterior Restoration project at Devonshire Elementary School located in Skokie, Illinois. In general, Work includes: 1.Approximately 47,000 square feet of roof removal and replacement with modified bitumen built-up roofing, including drain replacement and sheet metal work. 2.Approximately 4,000 square feet of existing lap siding removal and replacement with composite cladding at building eaves and gables. 3.Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid must be submitted with the Bid. D. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the Contract in a manner best serving the interest of Owner. 2.02PROJECT REQUIREMENTS A. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each equal to 100-percent of the Contract Amount, and an acceptable Certificate of Insurance, will be required from successful Bidder. B. Bidders must comply with Illinois Complied Statutes, 820 ILCS 130/1-12, requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to laborers, workmen and mechanics working on publicly-funded projects. If during the time period of Work, these rates change, Contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount. C.Contract will be subject to the requirements of the Equal Employment Practices Commission and the Illinois Human Rights Act (HRA) Illinois Revised Statute, Ch. 69, Par. 1 101, et. seq." (Including the requirement that every party to a public contract shall have adopted written sexual harassment policies, P.A. 87-1257). D.Bids will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of ninety (90) days after submission.
