Renovation of a detention facility in Marion, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The Marion County Detention Center is requesting proposals to replace three (3) HVAC units at the Detention Center. Proposals are to include all labor and materials to replace three (3) 5-ton Trane package heat pump units with heat strips and smoke control dampers. General Liability: As a condition of the award, the Contractor shall be required to provide commercial general liability insurance for services in the minimum amount of $500,000 per occurrence; $1,000,000 aggregate, and workers compensation insurance in accordance with state law. Proof of such insurance coverage (ACORD certificate) shall be provided to the County of Marion as part of the submitted proposal. Workers Compensation: The Contractor shall provide workers compensation insurance with coverage on a statutory basis according to South Carolina law which will apply to all personnel on the job site. Workers Compensation required minimums: 1) Coverage A Statutory Limits; 2) Coverage B: Bodily injury by accident $500,000 each accident, Bodily injury by disease $5000,000 each employee; Bodily injury by disease $500,000 policy limit. Fees, Licenses, Permits, and Responsibilities: The contractor, at his own expense, is responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, fees, or permits and for complying with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations in connection with the performance of this service. Marion County will not pay for any information herein requested, nor is it liable for any costs incurred by the proposer. Provide all labor and material to complete the following work: A. Replace three (3) commercial five (5) ton Trane model WCD060C400BC HVAC units with current model new five (5) ton Trane HVAC units. B. Include new heat strips with the HVAC units. C. Units must include motorized fresh air control dampers D. Provide all curb adapters to facilitate the change from the old HVAC units to the installation ofthe new HVAC units E. Replace all disconnect fuses. F. Sub-contract to provide all crane services required for the removal and installation ofthe old and new units. G. Sub-Contract Control Management Inc, to disconnect the automated HVAC unit controls and re-connect the automated HVAC unit controls to the new units and move all damper and smoke detectors and controls from the old to the new units. CMI is the sole source for the provision ofthis item ofthe scope ofwork. CMI may be contacted as follows: B. The County reserves the right to award this contract not necessarily to the vendor with the lowest price, but to the bidder that demonstrates the best ability to fulfill the requirements ofthe RFP C. The successful vendor shall commence work only after the transmittal of a fully Purchase Order and after receiving written notification to proceed from Marion County. The successful bidder will perform all services indicated in the proposal D. Marion County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals for any reason, in whole or in part, received in response to this RFP.
