Project will rebid but no definite date yet.** The City of Hayward is seeking an experienced and qualified contractor who is specially trained, experienced, and competent to perform Construction services in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this Request for Quote (RFQ). Hayward provides a full range of services to its residents including law enforcement; fire prevention and protection; paramedic services; housing and economic development; land use development services and regulations; community planning; libraries; street construction and maintenance; landscape maintenance services; transportation planning; and contracted curbside recycling and refuse collection. In addition, the City operates and maintains facilities for water distribution, storm water, and sanitary sewer collection and disposal. The City also operates a general aviation airport, downtown parking facilities, a main and branch library, and a civic center. Park and recreation services are provided through partnership with the regional Hayward Area Recreational District (HARD), headquartered in the City. Grounds and areas fully maintained by the City include City hall and Main Library grounds, Downtown on B Street, South Mission Blvd. Greenway, Medians on Jackson, Foothill, Mission, Harder, Tennyson, Industrial Pkwy, Hesperian, A Street, D Street, Winton, Orchard Roundabout. A storm drain manhole off Oakes Drive, located on the HARD trail, overflowed during the January storms. This caused the trail to erode and become unsafe for the residents using the trail. H.A.R.D. has backfilled the trail with rock and dirt but has asked the City to repair the storm drain. The City of Hayward Streets Division has tried to TV the line but was unable to see past 6 feet of manhole since that the pipe has corroded and clogged. They determined that the 12 storm drain line is unable to be maintained and proposed an abandonment/replacement of the pipe. The storm drain manhole flows to another downstream manhole, which then discharges the flow to the creek. The City has assumed that the pipe is clogged from outfall up to the first manhole. This project seeks to replace the clogged storm drain and create a new outfall from the most downstream manhole. Question Submission Deadline:November 27, 2023, 5:00pm Scope of Work Approximately 200 linear foot of storm drain replacement on the walking trail off of Oakes Drive. The City desires to enter into a construction services agreement for the duration of this project. The project goals are to replace storm drain and provide construction services during the project. The project deliverables for this scope of work are submittals and RFIs for items related to the project. Please see attachment B for photos of location and description.
