DESCRIPTION: The 17th Contracting Squadron at Goodfellow AFB, TX, is issuing a solicitation for Chiller Replacement at Building 222. The project consists of the Contractor removing one 80-Ton Chiller and installing a new 80-ton Air Cooled Trane CGAM Chiller, which includes replacing the chilled water piping. *This is a brand name acquisition for a Trane Chiller; see Attachment 6 for J&A. Trane is a critical piece of equipment standardization that supports Goodfellow AFB. TYPE OF CONTRACT AND NAICS: This RFQ will be for one (1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract and will be made to the responsible Offeror whose conforms to the solicitation requirements and is the most advantageous to the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors, and the small business size standard is no greater than $19 Million. The purpose of this notice is to meet the FAR 5.201 requirements. The Contractor shall remove existing Rotary Liquid air cooled unit, on the exterior west side of building 222. Remove existing supply and return exterior chilled water piping up to and including the isolation valves. Install new, from factory, 80-ton Trane(R) air cooled chiller. Install new exterior chilled water supply and return lines. Install new exterior isolation valves at the of the previous valves. Replace Y strainer with new. Install new portable chiller connections before isolation valves from building with two (2) new isolation valves and flange plates for the portable chiller. Contractor shall remove and replace 277/480/600 service disconnect. Contractor shall install two (2) 600 Amp 3-pole transfer switches on the North outside wall of the mechanical room for the portable chiller. Remove, retain, and re-install EMCS (Energy Management Control System) control wiring and materials for communication from the chiller to the 17 CES EMCS monitoring office. Install heat tape and piping insulation with aluminum exterior shielding. The Contractor will take custody of the removed chiller, piping, and isolation valves to include any oil, and any equipment and materials from the demolition.
