Renovation of an educational facility in Farmingdale, New York. Working plans call for the renovation of a 32,084-square-foot educational facility.
The State University Construction Fund is seeking statements of qualifications from firms to provide full Construction Manager (CM) Agency - Services for the Rehabilitate Thompson Hall project at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. The scope of the Project includes renovation of Thompson Hall, a 32,084 GSF, two-story building originally constructed in 1936 and 1957. The construction type is load bearing masonry with steel. It was designed in the Georgian Style which was typical for the early campus buildings, and has two floors above grade with a partial floor below. The building interiors are in fair to poor condition, and there have not been any major rehabilitation projects since the building was constructed, with the exception of upgrades to the elevators and rest rooms. The building is not currently sprinklered or air conditioned. All mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems need to be replaced with modern equipment. New work is required to meet the SUCF Program Directive for Deep Energy Retrofit at website. In addition, the building has been identified as 'Eligible' under Section 14.09 of the New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law. The goal of this project is to provide a design for the complete renovation of the interior and exterior of this building including all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as abatement of hazardous materials. The current estimated construction value is approximately $25,000,000.
