Brunswick County Schools of North Carolina will receive bids from licensed General Contractors for Union Elementary School Window & Door Replacement. Must be licensed in the state of North Carolina. The work involves the demolition and replacement of select existing exterior doors and windows at Union Elementary School. The door functions and exiting pathways will remain as is with door hardware to be coordinated with Brunswick County Schools. Classrooms windows will include emergency egress windows. No plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or structural work is anticipated. The work is to be conducted over the summer of 2024. Minority Participation: Bidders shall note that compliance with the Owner's Minority Participation Policy is applicable to this project. The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities. Individuals who are minorities include women, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, and Asian-Indian Americans. Bidders are required to submit, along with the bid, information concerning minority business enterprises which will participate in the contract. The information will include: (1) name and address of each minority firm; (2) description of the work to be performed by each minority firm named; and (3) the dollar value of the work to be performed by each firm named. Bidders are required to submit along with the bid, specific documentation demonstrating that they made good faith efforts to meet established goals. A bid which fails to meet these requirements may be considered non-responsive. Bid security required is (5%) of the bid, in cash, certified check or Bid Bond. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of (100%) of contract amount will be required. Bids may not be withdrawn for (45) days after bid due date. The Owner reserves the right to reject each and every bid and to waive informalities in bidding.
