The project generally involves the replacement of an existing sewer manhole and gravity sewer line located between the Grower's Co-Op (112 N. Portage St.) and the Village of Westfield Wastewater Treatment Plant (Old Hawley St.). The existing sewer line is located under a set of three CSX owned railroad tracks. The Work shall be performed under a single contract, and shall include, but is not limited to, the following: The removal of an existing 4 ft diameter manhole, the installation of a new 5 ft diameter HDPE manhole, the installation of approximately 80 lineal feet of 6" HDPE and 70 lineal feet of 12" HDPE pipe by means of "open cut" installation; the installation of approximately 136 lineal feet of 20" steel casing pipe installed by means of jack and bore under the railroad tracks; the installation of approximately 180 lineal feet of 14" HDPE sewer pipe by means of horizontal direction drilling; and the installation of all necessary fittings and appurtenances to connect to existing sewer lines. The envelope shall be clearly marked on the outside "Village of Westfield, CSX Manhole Replacement." Failure to follow the above instructions could result in rejection of the proposal. The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of MDA Consulting Engineers, PLLC. Anyone wishing to examine the Contract Documents should be advised to call ahead and confirm times in which the Contract Documents can be examined at the office (716) 699-4650. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid made payable to the "Village of Westfield". All Bid Bonds shall be on a form acceptable to the Owner, duly executed by the Bidder as Principal and having as surety thereon, a surety company approved by the Owner. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid within sixty (60) days of the Bid Opening.
