Reference Number 0000251748 Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/11/29 12:00:00 AM MST Management and operation of the Airdrie Residential Waste Transfer Site and community compost program (grass and leaves) This Request for Proposals is an invitation by the City of Airdrie to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Residential Waste Transfer Site Operations, as further described in Section A of the Particulars (Appendix B) (the "Deliverables"). The City seeks a professional Contractor to operate, manage and maintain it's Transfer Site on a cost recovery basis with all revenues recovered from gate fees and recycling materials being refunded to the City. The Transfer Site is a "fee based" drop-off depot seven kilometers west of Airdrie on Highway 567, next to the rodeo grounds. The Transfer Site's clients are residents of Airdrie and Rocky View County that use the site for the deposition and aggregation of excess organic, recyclable and waste materials. The site allows clients to drop off residential quantities of these materials and place them into the appropriate locations on site, thereby performing a preliminary sorting of material. The Contractor will collect fees, direct traffic on site, and aggregate material for subsequent disposal or recycling as appropriate. Proponents may refer to Section B of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (Material Disclosures) of this RFP for the material volumes experienced at the Transfer Site over the previous year(s). Proponents are reminded that these volumes are neither forward looking nor a commitment of the volume of materials to be handled. It is anticipated the volume of materials to be sorted will vary over time with no predictable pattern. The City intends to negotiate a six (6) year Agreement with the selected contractor, with an option in favour of the City to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional term of up to six (6) years in two (2) year increments for a total of twelve (12) years.
