The successful Bidder shall provide all labor, supervision, material, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the following Work including all incidentals thereto as detailed in the Plans and described in the Specifications: Bridge 18.33: Replace the lift bridge electrical and control system, rehabilitate the lift bridge mechanical components, replace the bridge signal and interlocking system, and complete miscellaneous repairs. Provide and install structural steel, coatings, conduit, wire, control system, power supply, and programmable logic controls, enclosures, motors, brakes speed reducers, couplings, instrumentation, lubrication, etc. Perform rehabilitation of mechanical components in a machine shop. Provide specialty testing services for roller bearings, wire rope destructive testing, and span balancing services. N 39 32' 35" W 75 42' 12" The Chesapeake & Delaware Canal is a navigable waterway controlled by the United States Army Corporation of Engineers (USACE). The successful Bidder shall conduct and phase his Work in a manner that will allow operation of the bridge and navigable waterway as required by Federal Regulations. The following is the opening requirement from the Code of Federal Regulations Title 33, Chapter I, Subchapter J, Part 117, Section 117.235 for the C&D Canal Lift Bridge: The draw of the Conrail bridge (C&D Canal Railroad Bridge, Bridge No. 18.33), mile 7.7, is operated by the Delmarva Central Railroad Company and shall open on signal. During construction, the Contractor will operate the bridge through final acceptance. Refer to 03400 "Bridge Operation During Construction" for requirements.
