Sewer relocation project consisting of approx. 648 feet of 10" PVC sewer main along with all necessary manholes. The City of Mt. Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Mt. Vernon for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The work, as proposed, includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and performing of all operations required to construct improvements for the OWNER, all as shown on the Drawings and/or as herein specified. It shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to furnish and install complete and working systems to perform the intended purposes as required by the Drawings and these specifications. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all details which may be necessary to properly install, adjust, and place into operation the complete installation, including the constructed location of all water main and appurtenances, and shall include the costs of all such details in the bid. This work shall be governed by an IEPA permit for construction. This permit shall be obtained for the CONTRACTOR by the OWNER before any construction operations begin. The OWNER will also obtain the necessary easements, highway permits, and railroad permits, if necessary, to construct the improvements. The CONTRACTOR shall familiarize himself with all requirements as to traffic control, flagmen, maintenance of trench, advance warning signs, etc., as required by state and local highway departments.
