Saving Project...

Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Arlington, Washington. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Work shall include the demolition and removal of the decommissioned water treatment plant at 115 West Haller Ave; commonly referred to as the Old WTP. This approximately 1,800 square foot 2-story concrete building is located along Haller Ave and within the existing City Public Works Utility Yard. Additionally, a 600 square foot wood framed, and steel panel garage will also be removed. Removal includes the disposal of all aspects of the structure, foundation, and all above ground utility appurtenances that are not owned by a utility company. The Old WTP exterior concrete walls along the southern and eastern side of the existing building shall remain in place to an elevation of at least 1 foot above existing grade outside of the structure. The site can be graded to allow for complete removal of the structure along the northern and western edges of the building. The existing structure has numerous interior and exterior concrete walls that are perpendicular and structurally connected to the foundation walls that will remain in place to continue to retain the adjacent grade. Along the south and east edges of the building, the perpendicular interior walls, the building slab, and associated foundations will remain in place to provide support to the exterior walls. The interior concrete walls, slab, and foundations should remain in place a minimum distance equal to the retained height of the associated walls. Alternatively, if removal of the interior walls is desired or required, the slab and foundations remain in place (to a minimum distance equal to the retained height of the adjacent wall) and bracing be installed to support the exterior walls. To reduce the potential for damage the walls, the interior walls, slab, and associated foundations are to be saw cut. See Attachment 01 Removal and disposal may be completed by select salvage and asset recovery, or by demolition and disposal. The City will allow removal of landscape and fencing items to complete this scope of work. The City encourages the participation of MWDBE firms. The bidder shall submit a voluntary DBE Participation Plan prior to commencing work on the project.
