A. The project consists of all necessary prep to perform the indicated work in the following areas: Warren Woods Middle School 1. Removal and replacement of boilers per the bid documents prepared by Ameresco. All equipment shall be furnished and installed by this contractor. 2. Insulation of uninsulated existing domestic hot water lines per the bid documents prepared by Ameresco. Westwood Elementary School 1. Removal and replacement of boilers per the bid documents prepared by Ameresco. All equipment shall be furnished and installed by this contractor. Boiler replacement work at the Warren Woods Middle School and Westwood Elementary shall start in spring 2024 and must be completed before September 2, 2024 for the start of the school year. Insulation work at the Middle School may proceed immediately after contract award. The successful bidder will be a subcontractor to Ameresco, whom will hold their contract. SCHEDULE: A. After award of contract the schedule will be finalized with the successful bidder, Ameresco and the Warren Woods Public Schools, Facilities and Operations Dept. B. Though unlikely, any asbestos that is found will be abated by the Owner. There will be no extra costs allowed due to the time required by the Owner for abatement. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or a satisfactory Surety Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price as guaranty. No bid shall be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty. Checks shall be made payable to Warren Woods Public Schools. Such cash, checks, or bid bonds will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders for each contract within five (5) days after the opening of bids, and the remaining cash, checks, or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidders have executed the Contract, or if no award has been made, within sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter, so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. PROPOSALACCEPTANCE: The right to accept and/or reject any and all proposals and to waive any and all informalities and/or irregularities in bid proposals submitted during the bidding process is reserved by the Owner, which right may be exercised at the sole discretion of the Owner. PROPOSALWITHDRAWAL: Proposals for base bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time established for the receipt of proposals.
