The City of Alpena is requesting qualifications for the purpose of entering into a contractual agreement for the review of electrical permits, electrical plan reviews, and required electrical inspections in the City of Alpena. The City of Alpena is located in Northeast Michigan and consists of 8.93 square miles. The Citys Planning, Development, & Zoning Department provides permitting and inspection services relating to all building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical permits and plan reviews. Average number of Electrical Permits issued annually is 130 with permitting fees of $25,000. The applicant shall be an independent contractor and not an employee of the City; he/she shall be responsible for his/her own mileage, inspector education fees, and registration fees. The City shall be responsible for collecting all electrical inspection and permit fees and will set the appropriate fee schedule on an annual basis. A contract shall be negotiated with the successful applicant based upon a percentage of all permit and plan review fees received Electrical Inspector services must start no later than April 1, 2024.
