The Metcalfe County Schools will receive lump sum sealed bids from general contractors for an addition to the Art Room (alternate bid) and Multipurpose Building at the Metcalfe County High School. Project consists of an addition to the multipurpose building at Metcalfe County High School and an alternate bid for an addition to the Art Room at the Metcalfe County High School. The Work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, site clearing, dewatering, earthwork, termite control, water distribution, sanitary sewerage, trenching and backfill, storm drainage, chain link fences and gates, lawns and grasses, indoor synthetic turf system, cast-inplace concrete, unit masonry assemblies, structural steel, steel joists, steel deck, cold formed metal framing, cold framed metal trusses, metal fabrications, rough carpentry, building insulation, spray polyurethane foam insulation and air barrier system, open cell spray polyurethane foam insulation, metal building insulation, standing seam metal roof panels, sheet metal flashing and trim, firestopping, joint sealants, standard steel doors and frames, overhead coiling doors, aluminum windows, door hardware, glazing, acoustical panel ceilings, resilient wall base and accessories, linoleum tile floor coverings, painting, visual display boards, signs, fire protection specialties, protective covers, metal building system, mechanical, plumbing and electrical and clean-up and removal of construction debris. Proposals will be received as a Lump Sum Bid(s) for the work indicated in the Bidding Documents. All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with and paid directly to Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check. Charges to obtain electronic copies are non-refundable and are to be arranged with, and paid directly to, Maco/Evansville Blue. Deposits will be refunded to contractors who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner (directly or through a prime contractor) and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition within ten days of the opening of the bids. Partial sets of documents are not available from the office of the Architect. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days therefrom. Federal wage rates are applicable to this project. Please refer to specification sections 00220 and 00850 regarding Davis-Bacon Act. The scoring of bids/proposals is subject to Reciprocal preference for Kentucky resident bidders and Preferences for a Qualified Bidder. Please refer to specification sections 00220 and 00450. The Owner reserves the right to determine the ability of any bidder to perform the work, and upon the request of the Owner, any bidder shall furnish such information as may be required to make this determination. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejection or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner and to reject any bid where evidence of information submitted by the bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the Bidder is qualified to carry out the details of the Contract Documents.
