As of August 30, 2024, this project is in the final planning phase. A firm timeline for advertisement for contractor and an timeline for start of construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Construction Services for the Arlington East WRF Expansion Phase 2 Scope: The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to, construction of new headworks, electrical room, mechanical screening equipment, washing compactors, screenings discharge system, effluent splitter box, and a new booster pump station. Background: JEA owns, operates, and manages the electric system established by the City of Jacksonville, Florida in 1895. In June 1997, JEA also assumed operation of the water and sewer system previously managed by the City. JEA is Florida's largest municipally owned utility and the seventh largest municipal in the United States.
