Saving Project...

Site work for a mixed-use development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

This project is included in the Mecklenburg County's fiscal years 2024-2030 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of September 10, 2024, the county is in the process of selecting a consultant. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not yet been released. This funding will be used to develop new pickleball courts at the following existing parks: Colonel Francis Beatty Park, Elon Park, Nevin Park, and Robert L. Smith Park. This funding will also be used to redevelop existing tennis courts into pickleball courts at the following existing parks: Sugaw Creek Park, Unity Park, Mason Wallace Park, Hornets Nest Park, and Collins Park. Funding will also be used to improve or add necessary support facilities (restrooms, site furnishings, shelters, site circulation, and/or parking). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
