Site work and paving for a road / highway in New York, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Milling existing asphaltic concrete wearing course in preparation of resurfacing thereon by others at designated locations as required together with all work incidental. General Project Description: the Contractor shall furnish all the labor, materials, and equipment, required by the Contract Documents, and as directed by the Engineer for the performance of the Work. Any labor, materials, and equipment that have been omitted in the description of the Work, but that are necessary or proper for the completion of the Work, shall be furnished by the Contractor at its sole cost and expense. This Project is an engineered capital improvement for the preparation of designated streets to be resurfaced by others. The Contractor shall perform the Work in accordance with the NYCDOT Standard Highway Specifications, as modified. The Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: B.1.1. the removal, by grinding (milling), of sections of the existing asphaltic roadway pavement wearing course, as necessary, to provide suitable gutter line grades and curb reveals, and to facilitate storm water runoff after the pavement has been resurfaced by others; and B.1.2. after the milling operation at each location, the Contractor shall complete the preparation work, to the satisfaction of the Engineer or his/her designee, for the resurfacing operation to be done by others. Preparation work shall include, but not be limited to, adjusting City hardware, installing pavement keys as directed, providing temporary ramps around street hardware and pedestrian ramps, mechanical sweeping, etc. Should the Contractor fail to complete such preparation work at a location, that length of work will be considered incomplete, and no payment will be made for that length of work until all preparation work for that length of work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineer or his/her designee. The Contractor shall maintain crosswalks and bike lane temporary markings with white spray paint after a street has been milled. No separate payment will be made to the Contractor for the maintenance of these pavement markings as this work is incidental to the grinding and maintenance and protection of traffic; and B.1.3. all other tasks incidental to the Work. B.2. Project Locations and Schedules: throughout the term of the Contract, NYCDOT shall issue written Work orders to the Contractor on a weekly basis, or sooner at NYCDOT's discretion, which will detail, among other things, the location of the Work and, at NYCDOT's discretion, the required date of completion thereof. NYCDOT shall establish the priority of the Work locations in the task orders assigned to the Contractor. The Contractor shall then submit its proposed detailed Work schedule, inclusive of start dates, duration of Work and completion dates, to the Engineer on a weekly basis for NYCDOT's review and approval. The Contractor may not commence Work unless it has received NYCDOT's prior written approval of the schedule. Once the weekly schedule is approved, the Contract must coordinate its Work with the City's street resurfacing program schedule. B.2.1. The Contractor may work in two boroughs concurrently. B.2.2. NYCDOT may require the Contractor to perform additional grinding at locations previously milled under this Contract to correct any deficiency, or at areas where resurfacing has been completed by others.
