The Fort Smith May Branch Outfall Culvert Remediation Project includes the demolition and removal of 258 linear feet of existing 12' x 10' precast concrete box culvert and its replacement with 258 linear feet of 12' x 10' cast-in-place concrete box culvert along North P Street near its intersection with Riverfront Drive in Fort Smith AR. Bid Packages: Bid Package #1 - Sitework, Structure Excavation, Demolition, and Backfill Bid Package #2 - Asphalt Paving and Asphalt Striping Bid Package #3 - Dewatering and Drainage Bid Package #4 - Shoring and Protection Bid Package #5 - Steel H-Piles Bid Package #6 - Bypass Pumping of Stormwater Bid Package #7 - Low and High Mobility Grouting Bid Package #8 - Concrete Bid Package #9 - Concrete Repair and Polyurethane Grout Injection Refer to the Instruction to Bidders section of the Construction Management Manual for directions in submitting bids. Bids must be based on a lump sum amount and must be inclusive of all construction documents and bid package requirements. The bids will be opened publicly. Include on sealed bid proposal envelope the name of the project and the bid package number. If submitting for more than one bid package, then each bid for each bid package must be in separate sealed envelopes. Fax and emailed bids are also accepted. Each bid is required to include a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid offered, if the bid exceeds $50,000. The bid is to be in the form of a cashier's check or insurance surety bond using AIA Document A310 with Power of Attorney attached. Bond is to be made payable to Van Horn Construction, Inc. A Trade Package Subcontracts more than $50,000 must include the cost of a Performance and Payment bond. Material Purchase Order contracts of more than $100,000 must include the cost of a supply bond. Successful bidders providing a complete, responsive, and responsible bid will be required to furnish the bond on Van Horn Construction's bond form without alteration, and to execute a subcontract/purchase order contract with Van Horn Construction, Inc. Sample is available for review in the Construction Management Manual. Bidders must comply with regulatory and licensing requirements of the State of Arkansas as well as all other applicable State statutes. By providing a bid, bidding firms accept the obligation to honor bids for a period of 30-days after the bid openings. CM Manual, Specifications, Plans, Bid Forms, and other contract document downloads will be available on the Van Horn Construction website www.vanhornconstruction.com. It is the policy of the Owner and CM that minority business enterprises shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Owner's or the CM purchasing process. Therefore, the Owner and the CM encourages all minority businesses to compete for goods, services, and construction contracts. The Owner and the CM reserve the right to reject any-and-all bids, to waive any formalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be in their best interest. The proposals will be considered based on cost, the bidder's financial responsibility, equipment, and past performance on completing similar work.
