Site work and paving for a road / highway in Morgantown, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors to create a walking trail at Paul Preserve Park. SCOPE OF WORK shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation to complete the renovation. BOPARC reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, as their interest may require; and to waive any informality in bids received. Additionally, BOPARC reserves the right to accept or reject a Bid not accompanied by the required Bidding Documents to accept or reject any condition of the Bid by a Bidder that is in any way inconsistent with the terms and conditions of the Bidding Documents or to accept or reject a Bid that is in any way incomplete or irregular. Bidders and any subcontractors must be in possession of a current WV State Contractors License. Other local licensing and permits required and are listed within the complete bid packet. #1 - MOBILIZATION/DEMOBILIZATION Mobilization/Demobilization will be paid for by the Lump Sum (LS) Unit bid cost. The cost for this item shall not exceed 5% of the total project bid. #2 - TOPSOIL, STRIP AND STOCKPILE, ASSUME 6" DEPTH Topsoil, Strip and Stockpile, Assume 6" Depth will be paid for by the Cubic Yard (CY) unit bid price and shall include stripping, stockpiling, and erosion control. Quantity is for informational purposes only and is based on an estimated 6" depth. The Contractor shall be responsible for stripping topsoil and stockpiling topsoil regardless of the actual depth and all payment will be held strictly to the estimated yardage with no increase or reduction in quantity. Contractor should also account for any double handling in the unit bid cost. This item includes installation and removal of a 12" compost filter sock along the downstream perimeter of the topsoil stockpile. #3 - EXCAVATION, CUT TO FILL Excavation, Cut to Fill will be paid for by the Cubic Yard (CY) Unit bid price. All earthwork is unclassified. No additional payment will be made for rock excavation. Price shall include the excavation of trail and complete preparation as necessary to accomplish the purpose of these plans including, cut, fill, placement, compaction, and testing. Earthwork quantity is for informational purposes only and will be paid strictly to the CY estimate with no increase or reduction in quantity. The Contractor shall be responsible for completing the full scope of the project within this bid quantity. This item includes the preparation of the subgrade for the trail. Subgrade shall follow the lines and grades of finished ground and compacted and tested as per WVDOH standards and specifications. Subgrade shall be within the tolerance of 3/4 ". Unsuitable, excavated material not used in the cut/fill operations shall be removed from the site and shall be considered incidental to this pay item. #4 - RETAINING WALL Retaining Wall will be paid for by the SF of face of wall. Face of wall is defined as the base blocks, intermediate blocks, and the wall cap. This item includes all excavation, base preparation and base, base and foundation blocks, stone aggregate backfill, geogrid layers, drainage and all materials and labor necessary for the completion of this item. The wall system shall be Stone Strong systems or approved equal and be installed as per Stone Strong Systems standard details and specifications
