Sealed bids will be received by the City of Aberdeen, Mississippi at City Hall, 125 W Commerce Street, Aberdeen, Mississippi, 39730, until 10:00 A.M., Local Time, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, for supplying all labor and materials (as specified) necessary for construction of the "DRAINAGE INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS." This project includes repairs and improvements to drainage infrastructure in various locations. The above general outline of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The contract time is 90 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for each calendar day the Work has not achieved Substantial Completion. Special Damages - In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay the Owner the actual costs reasonably incurred by Owner for engineering and inspection forces employed on the work after the time stipulated for the completion of the work. The City of Aberdeen reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein. Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited with the City of Aberdeen prior to the hour and date herein before designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to the City of Aberdeen, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
