This project provides for the necessary labor, material, equipment, and work to install nine (9) completely functional Closed Circuit Television CCTV (Cameras), four (4) Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) Systems, one (1) Roadway Weather Information Station (RWIS), one (1) retrofit of an existing DMS with ladder cage and catwalk, furnishing and installation of foundations, structures, power, and communication conduit and wiring. All DMS, controllers and cabinets; and network communications equipment will be supplied by the Commission. Also included are guide rail installation, erosion and sediment control, and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: 4 EA Install Full Color Full Matrix DMS Type 1, Centermount Sign and Structure 1 EA Retrofit Full Color Full Matrix DMS Type 1, Half-Span with Catwalk 7 EA Install 50' CCTV Poles, Foundations and Cameras 1 EA Install Structure Mounted CCTV Camera 1 EA Install Roadway Weather Information Station 738 LF Guide Rail 6,793 LF 2" HDPE Conduit 46 LF 4" HDPE Conduit 72 LF 2" Galvanized Steel Exposed Conduit 4,560 LF Trench and Backfill, Type IModified 87 LF Trench and Backfill, Type II Modified 795 LF Directional Boring 35 EA Junction Boxes, JB-1 9 EA Junction Boxes, JB-2 65 LF Drilled Caisson Construction Milepost 111.50 is located approximately 1.5 miles east of the Somerset Interchange, Exit 110 and Milepost 258.70 is located at the Lawn Service Plaza, in Somerset, Bedford, Fulton, Cumberland, Dauphin, and Lebanon Counties. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
