Renovation of a municipal facility in Woodville, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The work involved in the project includes repair and replacement of an existing metal roof system. Bid preparation will be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders bound in the Contract Documents. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and/or all bids. A bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid will be required. The bid bond or certified check will be returned immediately to unsuccessful bidders. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposals will not be considered in making the award. A performance bond, or equal, in the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder. In lieu of a performance bond the successful bidder may post with the Wilkinson County Board of Supervisors, the full amount of the bid, in cash or its equivalent, conditioned for the prompt, proper and efficient performance of the contract; said cash or its equivalent to be held until the successful completion of the project. Attention is called to the fact that contracts exceeding $50,000 require contractors to be licensed under applicable laws of the State of Mississippi and have a certificate of responsibility. COPE OF THE WORK: The work in this project includes the repair and re-roof of the existing 5,800 sq. ft. Wilkinson County Department of Human Services building located at 1391 Hwy. 61 S., Woodville, MS 39669. 1.02 START OF WORK: Work shall be started immediately upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Prior to this, all Contracts and Bonds will have been executed and insurance in force. 1.03 CONTRACTOR'S Duties: A. Except as specifically noted, provide and pay for: i Labor, materials, and equipment. ii Tools, construction equipment, and machinery. iii Water, heat, and utilities required for construction. iv Other facilities and services necessary for proper execution and completion of work. B. Pay legally required sales, consumer, use, payroll, privilege, and other taxes. C. Secure and pay for, as necessary, for proper execution and completion of work, and as applicable, at time of receipt of bids, required i Permits ii Government Fees iii Licenses D. Give required notices. E. Comply with codes, ordinances, rules, regulations, orders and other legal requirements of public authorities which bear on performance of work. F. Promptly submit written notice to PROFESSIONAL of observed variance of contract documents from legal requirements. It is not the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to make certain that drawings and specifications comply with codes and regulations. Appropriate modifications to contract documents will adjust necessary changes. Assume responsibility for work known to be contrary to such requirements, without notice. G. Enforce strict discipline and good order among employees. Do not employ on work, unfit persons or persons unskilled in assigned tasks. H. Provide a written a safety plan.
