Introduction & Background The Town of Winchester/City of Winsted is requesting sealed proposals for the Demolition and removal of the town-owned property located at 508-516 Main Street. Specifications for Demolition and Removal of Structures located at 508-516 Main Street in Winsted, CT. The demolition and removal shall include the following: o Confirmation of full physical disconnection from utility and telephone companies. o Demolition of one existing, standing three-floor structure located at 508 Main Street. o Demolition of the concrete foundation at 508 Main Street so that only natural material (dirt) remains at the site. o Demolition of the existing concrete foundation and wall remnants at 516 Main Street so that only natural material (dirt) remains at the site. o Removal of all debris created by the demolition of the standing structure at 508-516 Main Street using dumpsters, trucks, and/or any other method determined by the contractor. o Permits for demolition are the responsibilities of the awarded contractor. Selection Process The Town of Winchester will select a winning bid based on (1) the cost-effectiveness of the proposal, (2) the quality of the provided proposal, and (3) positive reference reviews. Submission Packet A submission packet shall include (1) a comprehensive quote for the work to be completed as described, (2) contact information for the principal of the bidding firm, (3) a description of the work to be done and acknowledgement of the specifications as described above by the Town, (4) a minimum of three references that the Town may contact, (5) a photo, if possible, and description of at least three other similar projects completed by the bidder in the past three years, and (6) a signed statement swearing that no collusion occurred between the bidder and any third party or the bidder and the Town to secure the terms of this proposal.
