As of January 30, 2024 this project was awarded to Nelson Excavating & Construction Co. Inc. with the awarded amount of $343,997.95 Washington City (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: 300 South & 400 South Sewer Reconstruction The Project includes the following Work: Work in general consists of the furnishing of all labor and materials for the 300 South & 400 South Sewer Reconstruction. This project is located on 300 South between Main St and 100 East and 400 South between 100 East and 200 East in Washington City. This project involves decommissioning and replacing approximately 450 lnft of existing failing sewer lines on 300 South and approximately 500 lnft of existing failing sewer line on 400 South. The repair will primarily consist of excavating and decommissioning existing sewer lines and manholes, installing new pipe and manholes, reconnecting existing sewer laterals and roadway repair. Bidding Documents may be obtained electronically. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained electronically or paper format. The digital documents will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through electronically. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained electronically. Questions: Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Responses to questions are not part of the Contract Documents unless set forth in an Addendum that expressly modifies or supplements the Contract Documents. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of [5] percent of Bidder's maximum Bid price (determined by adding the base bid and all alternates) and in the form of a Bid bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 6.01 of the General Conditions. Such Bid bond will be issued in the form included in the Bidding Documents. Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of Contractor's obligations under the Contract. These bonds must remain in effect until one year after the date when final payment becomes due or until completion of the correction period specified in Paragraph 15.08, whichever is later, except as provided otherwise by Laws or Regulations, the terms of a prescribed bond form, the Supplementary Conditions, or other provisions of the Contract. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids. Owner also reserves the right to waive all minor Bid informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the Work. Owner will reject the Bid of any Bidder that Owner finds, after reasonable inquiry and evaluation, to not be responsible. If Bidder purports to add terms or conditions to its Bid, takes exception to any provision of the Bidding Documents, or attempts to alter the contents of the Contract Documents for purposes of the Bid, whether in the Bid itself or in a separate communication to Owner or Engineer, then Owner will reject the Bid as nonresponsive.
