Site work for a mixed-use development in Dalton, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

**As of January 31, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. Award may be determined sometime February or March of 2024. Whitfield County Board of Education seeks competitive proposals from Turf Manufacturers / Installers for the construction of: New Combination Baseball / Softball Artificial Turf Fields for Coahulla Creek High, Northwest High, and Southeast High. The Owners budget for this work is $900,000 to $1,100,000 per school. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any technicalities or formalities. A Proposal must also include a fully executed Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposed lump sum contract price (exclusive of any alternates and unit prices) in the form required by the Instructions to The Contractor's proposal shall include a detailed description of its proposed synthetic turf system including information on player safety, performance, realistic play, durability, cost of ownership, maintenance programs, blade material / thickness, pad (if recommended by Contractor), backing, seaming, drainage, edge details, infill material, warranty and installation. The field shall include two turf types/colors. One for the infield/warning track and one for the outfield. The turf shall also include all striping for baselines / foul lines, coaches boxes, batter's box, on deck circles, etc as shown in the NFHS Court and Field Diagram Guide in addition to 2 school logos. Each school logo shall be approximately 20 feet in diameter. Final field striping to be determined and approved during the shop drawing process. Synthetic Turf Minimum Requirements: Turf Type 1 - Infield/warning track: Pile Height 1.75" with a "thatch layer" and a 50 oz face weight. Infill: 40% rubber 60% sand by volume. Turf Type 2 - Outfield: Pile Height 2" with a 46 oz face weight. Infill: 70% rubber, 30% sand by volume. Fiber Type: Hybrid Slit Film & Monofilament The Owner encourages each contractor to propose value added options as add-alternates to their pricing. See spaces for alternates provided on Exhibit B - Proposal Form. In general, the project includes the installation of a combination baseball / softball artificial turf fields at each of the three Whitfield County Schools high schools, including all base, drainage, nailers, artificial turf, infill, base sets, inserts, pitcher's mounds, striping and all other materials & labor required for a complete installation in compliance with GSHA and NFHS. The Contractor will be required to coordinate with the Owner's forces for the scheduling, phasing and installation of the artificial turf system. Under a separate contract, the Owner's forces will provide a concrete perimeter curb for the installation of the wood nailer. The Owner's forces will remove soil to sub-grade and provide a connection point for the Contractor's underdrainage system. The requirements for construction of the Project, and the duties and responsibilities of the contractor whose Proposal is accepted ("Successful Contractor"), are set forth in the Contract Documents which include the Instructions to Proposers; the Contract for Construction and Incorporated General Conditions (the "Contract"); any supplementary and other conditions; the drawings; the specifications; and any addenda issued by the Architect. Any contractor submitting a proposal may choose to submit on a single school or any combination of the school projects. All work shown for each school must be included in any proposal for that specific school project.
