As of February 13, 2024, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Reference Number 0000334999 The Contract Documents provide for the construction of Bid 9909 Mail Creek Trail. The project is funded through the City of Fort Collins Conservation Trust Funds; no federal funds are associated with this project. The work includes construction of a new 1/2 mile 5" thick,10' wide colored concrete trail, relocation of 1,052 LF of the New Mercer Ditch, a repurposed pedestrian bridge and trail connection into the Mail Creek/Kechter Crossing Neighborhood and restoration for any areas disturbed during construction. The New Mercher Ditch relocation needs to be completed by April 15, 2024, prior to the ditch opening for the season. This project is broken out into a base bid and an add alternative. The base bid (1,672 LF, west mail creek trail in the drawing set) includes the trail, ditch relocation and pedestrian bridge. This segment runs from Timberline going west to Tilden St. The add alternative (1,200 LF, east mail creek trail in the drawing set) runs east of Tilden to tie into the existing trail west of Spindlebush Ln. within City Right-of-Way along Zephyr Rd.
