Renovation of a municipal facility in Newtown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
“Please review Bid Tabulation documents for complete proposal details and pricing.” The Town of Newtown (hereinafter known as Town) is seeking bids from contractors that can remove the existing Transite-ACM shingles and replace the roofing in all the existing shingle or built- up roof areas at the Municipal Center located at 3 Primrose Street, Newtown CT 06470, on the Fairfield Hills Campus. There are approximately 52,550 square feet(SF) of transite- ACM (asbestos containing material) shingle and 3624 SF of built- up roofing. A critical component of the project is that it will be performed to meet all local, state and federal health and safety requirements of safe handling of the ACM material allowing the building activities to proceed without any interruption or cause any exposure to staff or the general public. The BID BOND furnished, as bid security, must be duly executed by the bidder as principal. It must be in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total estimated bid, as guarantee that, in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, the bidder will, within ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond.
