Contract Id DD00444 County: Johnston The North Carolina Department of Transportation is Requesting Bids for Dd00444 - Grading, Drainage, Paving and Signal at Sr-1524 (Old Drug Store Rd) and Sr-1525 (Cornwallis Rd) in Johnston County. The Department of Transportation does not exclude any person from participation in, deny any person the benefits of, or otherwise discriminate against anyone in connection with the award and performance of any contract covered by this program on the basis of race, color, sex, political affiliation/ influence, or national origin For this project, the NC General Contractors license will be waived; however, bid bonds or a bid deposit in accordance with Article 102-10, and contract payment and performance bonds will be required. NCDOT - Grading, Drainage, Paving and Signal Location: Sr-1524 (Old Drug Store Road) at Sr-1525 (Cornwallis Road) The date of availability for this contract is the date the Contractor begins work but not before February 5, 2024 or later than April 1, 2024 The liquidated damages for this contract are Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per calendar day. These liquidated damages will not be cumulative with any liquidated damages which may become chargeable under Intermediate Contract Time Number 1. At the preconstruction conference the Contractor shall declare his expected date for beginning work. Should the Contractor desire to revise this date after the preconstruction conference, he shall notify the Engineer in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to the revised date. Except for that work required under the Project Special Provisions entitled Planting, Reforestation and/or Permanent Vegetation Establishment, included elsewhere in this proposal, the Contractor will be required to complete all work included in this contract and shall place and maintain traffic on same. The date of availability for this intermediate contract time is the date of availability of the contract. The completion date for this intermediate contract time is the date which is One Hundred Eighty (180) consecutive calendar days after the date of availability. The liquidated damages for this intermediate contract time are Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00) per calendar day. Upon apparent completion of all the work required to be completed by this intermediate date, a final inspection will be held in accordance with Article 105-17 and upon acceptance, the Department will assume responsibility for the maintenance of all work except Planting, Reforestation and/or Permanent Vegetation Establishment. The Contractor will be responsible for and shall make corrections of all damages to the completed roadway caused by his planting operations, whether occurring prior to or after placing traffic through the project For further information or questions, please contact me by phone at 252-640-6433 or by email at vpgardner@.ncdot. gov. Contractors bidding on NCDOT contracts must sign up for the Interested Parties List on the Bidding and Letting page for each project they intend to submit bids on. As part of this new requirement, Contractors must sign up for the Interested Parties List no later than 11:59 PM the day before the letting. Any firm that wishes to perform work on Division Purchase Order Contracts as either the prime contractor or as a subcontractor on the project must be prequalified for the type of work they wish to perform. Firms that wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime Contractor prior to submitting your bid. Firms that wish to perform as a subcontractor to the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to beginning work on the project.
