Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Herndon, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This project provides for the development of public parking as well as an arts center in the downtown in accord with the comprehensive plan. During 2017 a Comprehensive Agreement was negotiated between the town and Comstock and approved by Town Council. By the terms of the agreement, Comstock provides permanent structured parking (341 spaces), the shell arts center facilities as well as temporary facilities during construction, other public space improvements and a $500,000 recreation allowance. The town will also cover interior build-out for the arts center with all of the shell construction costs covered by Comstock. The project is include in the City's 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
