Site work for a water / sewer project in Herndon, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The sewer conveyance system requires constant maintenance to prevent costly, unnecessary repairs and sanitation hazards due to infrastructure failures and sewer main deterioration. Fiscal year savings are generated from the infiltration and inflow (I&I) reduction, which reduces sewer conveyance and treatment costs. After surveying our largest trunk line, sections were identified to be in less than favorable condition; I&I, tree roots, deterioration, etc. This will be the focus of our program over the next few years. Other sewer main and manhole rehabilitation may be added to the list when identified in future sewer system surveys. Future efforts will focus on other trunk lines and collector pipelines. Project is included Town of Herndon Fiscal Year 2025-2030. As of August 13, 2024, project is funded for construction for FY2025-2030. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
