Bidder shall submit with the bid a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to Somerset County Treasurer, along with a Certificate (Consent of Surety) with Power of Attorney for full amount of bid price from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and that said Surety will furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in amounts of 100% of successful bidder's contract. The DBE Goal for this project is 10%. The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to the following major items of work: o Installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic protection devices associated with the vehicular detour proposed for this project; o Installation, maintenance and removal of soil erosion and sediment control devices as shown on the Plans; o Partial demolition of Bridge No. K0607 and replacement of the two span existing aluminum arches with a single span precast concrete arch founded on the existing footings with modifications and segment of precast concrete foundation. o Construction of precast concrete headwalls, cast-in-place pylons and steel 4-bar bridge railing. o Construction of precast concrete retaining walls and installation of slope stabilization measures. o Approach roadway reconstruction and installation of new beam guide rail with end terminals and bridge parapet connections.
