The University is in the process of shifting from a building by building cooling approach, to more interwoven district approach because of an ever increasing costs of aging HVAC equipment in particular buildings. Three buildings on the East bank campus; namely Scott Hall located at 72 Pleasant Street South East, Wulling Hall located at 86 Pleasant Street South East, and Elliot Hall located at 75 East River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55455, have such aging equipment. This equipment, which includes a reciprocating chiller with a dead com pressor, is held together with a variety of aged chilled water equipment that includes 2 absorption chillers.
