This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Spring Valley, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Task 1. Removal of Hazardous Trees. Removal of Hazardous Trees as described above. Stumps are not expected to be removed nor ground, but shall be flush cut to ground level (maximum of 4 inches above ground) by Contractor, using chain saws or other available equipment. For the removal of felled trees, no excavation is expected or allowed. Hazardous Trees to be prioritized will be flagged in advance (before Project activities) by Authority staff. Task 2. Staging of Hazardous Trees for Processing. Contractor will be responsible to place the cut hazardous Trees in smaller pieces of manageable size as described below in the adjacent Staging Area for concurrent or future tree and vegetation processing. - Contractor shall cut any trunks or branches between 10-inch diameter and 3-foot diameter to 10-foot-long sections and placed in Staging Area. - Contractor shall cut any trunks or branches 3-foot diameter or above to 4-foot-long sections and placed in the Staging Area. - Any branches or trunks that are 10-inch diameter and below is considered chippable material and shall be staged by Contractor separately at lengths not to exceed 15 feet. This vegetation debris will be staged near provided chippers, to be operated by Others. The Contractor must be ready to mobilize and start work by December 27, 2023. The Authority anticipates approximately 4 to 7 weeks of work, but ending no later than February 15, 2024. The Authority reserves the right to cancel work or terminate the contract without penalty due to weather, site conditions, or Contractor performance. Work may be stop for an undetermined period of time if there are nesting birds in the vicinity of the project or within the project boundaries. Work would be able to restart once nesting constraints have ended, per the assessment of a qualified bird biologist, to be provided by the Authority. The entire nesting season typically ends at the end of the month of August. The Authority has obtained the prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work applicable in this locality form the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations for each craft, classification, or type of workman need to execute this contract and has a copy of these prevailing rates on file at its office. Any interested party may request a copy. The successful bidder shall post a copy thereof at each job site. The Authority hereby places the Contractor and any subcontractors on notice of the penalty provisions of Labor Code Section 1775 for failure to comply with prevailing wage laws. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771, prevailing wages do not apply to jobs under $1,000. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals/bids or to waive any minor irregularities in any proposal/bid or in the bidding process. The Authority reserves the right to cancel, in whole or in part, this RFQ. This RFQ does not commit the Authority to award a contract, to defray any costs incurred in the preparation of a Quotation, or to procure or contract for work. This inquiry implies no obligation to buy. The right is reserved to accept all or part, or decline the whole. Do not quote on goods or services that you cannot supply or provide. When substitutes are allowed and offered, attach complete specifications. The Authority's standard purchase order terms and conditions, copy attached hereto, will apply to any order(s) resulting from this quotation. Question Deadline 12/01/2023 at 2:00 PM PT.
