Dorchester County is requesting sealed proposals from interested and qualified parties for the design, provision, and installation of a playground at the upcoming Pine Trace Park, located in Summerville, SC. Last Day for Questions: Thursday, December 21, 2023 @ 5:00PM EST Dorchester County is requesting proposals from firms interested in providing the design and installation of the playground at the Pine Trace Park, which is currently under construction. The park will feature an extensive trail system throughout the mature mixed hardwood forest, bike/pedestrian connections, 6-acre fishing pond, fishing pier, ADA kayak launch, shelters, playground, disc golf course, dog parks, and primitive group camping area. As of June 18, 2024, design team has been identified. The playground will need to be complete by September 2024, which is when the park is expected to open. The total budget for the park's playground is $300,000, which is an all inclusive amount. Services Requested in RFP o Provide site evaluation and design to include drainage, surfacing, hardscape, playground, and nature play plans. Model site plans are attached in both PDF and DWG formats (Attachments A and B). o Playground design must include components for kids of all ages and capacities. o Playground base should be mulch and have a composite rubber border (see Attachment C from Davis Bailey Park). o Existing large shade trees to remain. o Complete "turnkey" installation of a new playground. o A minimum of two handicapped-accessible components should be included in plans. o HIC and G-Max testing after installation and yearly through warranty period. o Safety audit upon final completion. Payment shall be due within thirty (30) days of approved invoices. Payment and Performance Security The successful Respondent shall provide performance and payment bonds, in a form satisfactory to the County, in the following amounts: Payment Bond: 100% of the total amount of the Contract. Performance Bond: 100% of the total amount of the Contract. The term of the Contract shall commence upon Notice to Proceed and continue for one year, with the option to renew for up to four (4) additional one-year terms. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
