Renovation of an educational facility in Montreal, Quebec. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Reference number : 1782923 Deadline for receiving complaints: complaints: 2024-01-12 The Université de Montréal is issuing a public call for tenders in order to conclude a contract with a contractor-lot in wrought metals as part of the project to repurpose the spaces of the Roger-Gaudry and Marie-Victorin buildings located on its mountain campus (main campus), which is being carried out in construction management mode. This repurposing project is part of the University's long-term development vision, established in accordance with its Master Plan, which is the phase following the construction of the Science Complex on the Outremont site (CSSO). The new pavilions that have been created there, namely the Science Building and the Teaching Building and the Library, have freed up space on the project site. The project consists of transforming the spaces directly affected by the transfer of activities to the CSSO, namely the Roger-Gaudry (PRG - East and West) and Marie-Victorin (PMV) pavilions, in order to repurpose them and use them for other purposes. The project involves the renovation, upgrading and adaptation of these buildings, whose current configuration does not meet the functional needs of the units that will be moving there. This reallocation of spaces will also be an opportunity to implement a strategy of grouping units to correct the dispersion of academic units on several sites. The contractor-lot is informed of the following particularities concerning the Repurposing project: - The work of the Repurposing project will take place in existing buildings whose physical condition, age, dilapidation and non-compliance with the various codes and standards in force are of a high level of complexity; - The buildings have a heritage and iconic character of the mountain site as a whole that must be respected, as well as the distinctive architectural features that must maintain their integrity; -The execution of the work must allow the maintenance of the services of the buildings occupied by research, teaching and administrative functions, in particular in terms of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fire protection, evacuation, access; - Work of various nature and scope will be carried out by third-party contractors at the same time as the completion of the Repurposing project in the various pavilions of the University; The work on this lot consists mainly of the supply of labour, materials, equipment, materials and services necessary to carry out all the selective demolition work as part of the redevelopment of the Roger-Gaudry West building of the Université de Montréal. For more details, refer to the scope of work in the technical documents. The redevelopment works of RGE and RGO concern 27,991 m2 spread over 9 floors, as illustrated in the following images, The project also includes several interventions required as part of the project but which are located outside the redeveloped areas in RGE, RGO and PMV. These interventions are required due to work to bring them up to standard, replace vertical traffic infrastructure and mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
