SW 98th Street / SW 100th Street - Hot in Place This work shall consist of constructing a Hot In-Place base course to the depth shown in the plans. Produce this base course by uniformly heating and scarifying and/or milling the existing bituminous pavement, then mixing the reclaimed bituminous pavement material with emulsified asphalt. Spread and compact the mixture in accordance with these specifications, as shown on the plans or directed by the Engineer. The work detailed on the plans and contract documents will be completed in accordance with the requirements of the Nebraska Department of Transportation's 2017 Edition of the Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (NDOT Standard Specification) including all amendments, Supplemental Specifications and additions thereto effective at the date of the contract, the Special Provisions, plans and all supplementary documents are essential parts of the contract. All bids shall be based on the delivery schedule specified in the Special Provisions and/or Project Schedule Form. Time required for delivery of labor, materials, services, etc... as specified above is hereby made an essential element of the bid. The bidder proposes to furnish all necessary equipment, tools, machinery, apparatus, and other means of construction; to do all work and to furnish all materials and labor necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, and Special Provisions, in particular all requirements contained in the section "Method of Completion". The contractor shall commence said work on or after July 8th, 2024. This project will be considered a 40 working day project as well as meet any requirements set forth in the "METHOD OF COMPLETION" section. A contractor may begin work on the contract before the date specified herein, provided the contractor has received a notice to proceed from the County, such change is acceptable to the County Engineer, and the contractor has received written permission from the County to do so. The unit prices specified herein shall prevail when evaluating the proposals to determine the successful bidder. Should an error be discovered in the estimated quantities during the advertisement period, every effort will be made to issue an addendum correcting the discrepancy. If, in the opinion of the County Engineer an addendum cannot be issued prior to the filing of the proposals, the County reserves the right to evaluate the proposals based on the known quantities at the time the proposals are opened. It is the intent of the plans and these specifications to receive proposals and award a contract for all of the construction work shown on the plans. The County reserves the right and will be free to evaluate the proposals based on the low bids for a combination of any or all parts or groups the County sees fit or desires. The bidder must bid all items on the proposal(s). All work awarded will be awarded to one and only one bidder. A Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract shall be required for all construction contracts
