Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Decatur, Alabama. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

**As of January 29, 2024, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed.** The scope of the work for the A New Inclusive Park for The City of Decatur, Alabama shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: Excavation/Earthwork, parking lot construction, construction of a new pavilion w/restrooms including stone and timber-framing, multiple types of paving, installation of synthetic turf, installation of multiple types of playground equipment, all interior fit-out inclusive of all work shown on the plans provided. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board of General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of licensing before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his/her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. A copy of the current License shall be submitted with the proposal. A cashiers check or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety company, payable to THE CITY OF DECATUR in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shallbe submitted with each bid. Nonresident bidders must accompany any written bid document with a written opinion of an attorney at law, licensed to practice law in such nonresident bidders state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in the state in letting of any or all public contracts. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages asset forth in the contract documents must be paid on this project, and the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin This project will follow the prevailing wages set forth by the requirements of the federal Davis-Bacon Act. Each bidder must include the Non-Collusive Affidavit, signed by the bidder. The CITY of DECATUR, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities. Bids may be held by the CITY of DECATUR, for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing them and investigating the qualifications of the bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
