sealed bids will be received by the Township of West Deptford for the Well No. 7 Chlorine Contact Tank Replacement in the Township of West Deptford, Gloucester County, New Jersey. NO BIDS ARE TO BE PICKED UP AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE OR AT THE MUNICIPALITY OFFICES. PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO OBTAINING SAID SPECIFICATIONS. NO BIDS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE. In general, the work on this project consists of furnishing and installing a new underground chlorine contact tank to replace an existing tank currently installed on site, complete as specified within these Contract Documents and shown on Drawings, appended to these specifications. The existing tank, piping, and concrete that interferes with the proposed system shall be removed and disposed of. The existing tank is approximately 72" in diameter with an approximate length of 26'-5" from flanged end to flanged end and has a capacity of around 5,000 gallons. The orientation of the tank with relation to the well house is unknown. The tank also has a 30" diameter manway located at the top of the tank at the tank centerline. This manway is protected by a outer hinged cover directly welded to the outer shell of the tank. The existing information is not confirmed and shall be verified by the contractor. A new water service line connection shall be established and connected to existing piping for the Township of West Deptford to collect samples of water leaving the tank. Remove any unsuitable material from the site and replace it with new sand bedding as needed. All work shall be constructed in accordance with the Township of West Deptford's requirements. The Contractor shall coordinate efforts with the Township to notify affected residents during construction. After work has been completed, the Contractor shall be responsible for all restoration of the work site. 1.02 DESCRIPTION BASE BID The work of this project consists of, but is not limited to the following: A. Obtain mark-outs of all utilities prior to mobilization. B. Excavate and remove the existing contact tank, along with piping and pad that interferes with new tank installation. C. Install new concrete foundation pad as shown on the plans. D. Install new chlorine contact tank on sand bed. E. Anchor the new underground storage tank to the concrete pad, as per manufacturer's instructions. F. Prepare water main, fittings and connections as shown on drawings and as required to create a complete and functioning system. G. Install access pit for manway and backfill. H. Disinfect all new piping and underground equipment so as to not cause any bacterial or viral growth within the water system. I. Replace excavated materials from any trenches with the same materials or better, to ensure equal or better conditions of the site, before the work was performed. Contractor will be responsible for obtaining all materials used for the rehabilitation of the site after the work was performed. J. All related incidental work including soil erosion an The Township of West Deptford reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Township of West Deptford, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington & Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to Barb Lamplugh, QPA, Township of West Deptford, 400 Crown Point Road, West Deptford, New Jersey 08086. The envelope shall be clearly marked with "Sealed Bid - Well No. 7 Chlorine Contact Tank Replacement". Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of West Deptford in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions.
