Renovation of an educational facility in Anchorage, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Contractor is to use the design-build procurement process to design, permit and install a new fire alarm system at Goldenview Middle School. The project requires professional design services, labor, material, and supervision to complete construction for the scope of work described in the documents. A bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total amount of the base bid will be required (cash, personal or business checks are unacceptable). The successful Contractor shall be required to furnish 100 percent performance and payment bonds. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: BETWEEN $500,000 and $1,000,000 The Anchorage School District is committed to providing reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all individuals with a qualifying disability. The Districts Purchasing Department will be closed beginning December 23 and will reopen January 3. Any emails, correspondence, questions, and others received during the closure will be responded to, if required, as soon as possible after the Department reopens. Proposals received by the Purchasing Department after the time fixed for receipt of the proposals will not be considered. Time of receipt will be as determined by the time stamp at the Purchasing Department. Any proposer in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the specifications or other portions or provisions of the RFP documents may submit a written request for interpretation. The proposer submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery not less than ten (10) working days prior to the date set for submission of the technical proposals. The Owner will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the specifications or other documents made or given prior to the proposal opening. To secure consideration, the proposal must be submitted and sealed in an envelope on which the RFP identification is plainly marked on the outside. The proposal form, Section 00300 is included in the documents. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. The Anchorage School District will require five percent (5%) of the total amount of the base bid as a guarantee (cash, personal, or business checks are not acceptable). Bid guarantees for the three (3) low bidders will be held until the contract is executed. FAX/e-mail proposals will NOT be considered. Proposal modification by FAX/e-mail of proposals already submitted will be considered if received prior to the time fixed in the Request for Proposals. FAX/e-mail proposal modifications shall not reveal the amount of the original or revised cost factors and must be signed by an authorized representative of the proposer. It is the responsibility of the proposer to ensure delivery of any proposal modifications prior to the date and time fixed in the Request for Proposals. Proposal modifications received after the time fixed in the Request for Proposal will NOT be considered. Proposers are encouraged to ensure that the Owner has received any proposal modifications prior to the opening Proposers must comply with all of the terms of this RFP, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws, codes and regulations. The District may reject any proposal that does not comply with all of the material and substantial terms, conditions, and performance requirements of this RFP and any proposal which contains information or material which cannot be verified or otherwise confirmed for purposes of determining responsiveness to the solicitation. The District reserves the right to waive informalities and minor irregularities, and/or reject any and all proposals, and to not award the proposed contract, if in its best interest. Informalities and minor irregularities means matters of form rather than substance which are evident from the submittal or are insignificant matters that have a negligible effect on price, quantity, quality, delivery, or contractual conditions and that can be waived or corrected without prejudice to other proposers. These include items that: Do not affect responsiveness; Are merely a matter of form or format; Do not change the relative standing or otherwise prejudice other offers; Do not change the meaning or scope of the RFP; Are trivial, negligible, or immaterial in nature; Do not reflect a material change in the work, or; Do not constitute a substantial reservation against a requirement or provision of the RFP. The D/B contractor shall have the work substantially complete on January 8, 2025 with the final completion date of January 22, 2025. A MOA Certificate of Conditional Occupancy must be in place prior to substantial completion and a MOA Certificate of Occupancy must be in place prior to final completion. Scheduling should include activity during school holidays, evening, and weekend work as the D/B contractor deems necessary to finish the work. (See Section 00200 Project Schedule Milestone Dates) *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
