Renovation of an educational facility in East Bend, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Roofing and siding and sheet metal services The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to award the contract to another bidder, other than the low bidder, should it be deemed in their best interest. If any person contemplating submitting a Bid for the construction of the Work is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the proposed Contract Documents or finds discrepancies in or omissions from any part of the Contract Documents, they may submit to the Architect a written request for interpretation or correction thereof, no later than 7 calendar days prior to the receipt of Bids. The work consists of: 1. Existing Conditions: a. The building is occupied and will remain occupied during construction. b. The existing roof areas (01.01, 01.02, 01.03, 01.04, 01.05 & 01.06) consist of a metal deck, a one and one-half-inch (1 1/2 ") layer of isocyanurate insulation, one-half inch layer of perlite insulation, and a built-up roof with gravel surfacing. c. The existing roof area (05.01) consist of a metal deck, a one and one-halfinch (1 1/2 ") layer of isocyanurate insulation, a one-half inch wood fiber cover board, and a built-up roof with gravel surfacing. 2. Demolition: a. Roof Areas 01.01, 01.02, 01.03, 01.04, 01.05 and 05.01: 1) The existing roof shall be swept clean of all gravel surfacing. 2) The existing roof shall have twelve-inch (12") squares removed every one-hundred square foot and all debris removed b. Roof Area 01.06: 1) The existing roof system shall be removed to the deck. c. All areas indicated as "Thermal anomaly" on sheet titled "TS-1/THERMAL SURVEY": 1) Roof assembly shall be removed to the deck in the affected area. Install new isocyanurate insulation to match existing insulation height prior to installing new cover board and membrane. d. All unused equipment and penetrations shall be removed, and the deck repaired as specified herein and/or as shown in the detail drawings. 3. Renovation/New Construction a. Roof Areas 01.01, 01.02, 01.03,01.04, 01.05 and 05.01: 1) Mechanically attach new one-quarter inch (1/4") per foot tapered isocyanurate insulation to meet minimum uplift requirements per FM Global. Install the new crickets and saddles, and cover board in foam insulation adhesive. Fully adhere a new PVC membrane and flashings as specified herein and as shown in the project drawings as required by the manufacturer for a twenty-year (20) NDL Manufacturer's Warranty. b. Roof Area 01.06 1) Mechanically attach new one and one-half inch-inch (1-1/2") layer of isocyanurate insulation as required to meet minimum uplift per FM Global to the metal deck. Install new one quarter inch (1/4") per foot of tapered isocyanurate insulation in foam insulation adhesive as indicated in detail drawings. Install new crickets and saddles, and cover board in foam insulation adhesive. Fully adhere new PVC membrane and flashings as specified herein and as shown in the project drawings as required by the manufacturer for a twenty-year (20) NDL Manufacturer's Warranty. c. Install new pre-finished metal accessories and trim as indicated on the detail drawings per manufacturer's specifications. d. Roof Area 01.05 & 01.06: 1) Remove existing Skylights and replace deck per detail drawings. Add new isocyanurate insulation to match existing insulation height.
