Renovation of an educational facility in Freeport, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work includes (1) Replacement of eight exterior windows and Direct replacement of existing roofing system with new single membrane roofing system. (2) Renovating existing toilets near the cafeteria (Girls Toilet G-28 & Boys Toilet G-27). Including but not limited to replacing interior finishes (floor, ceiling, and wall finishes), new LED lighting and new plumbing fixtures. Each Contractor shall pay not less than the minimum hourly wage rates on those contracts as established in accordance with Section 220 of the Labor Law as shown in the schedule. Article 8, Section 220 of the Labour Law, as amended by Chapter 750 of the Laws of 1956, provides (among other things) that it shall be the duty of the fiscal officer to make a determination of the schedule of wages to be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics employed on public work projects, including supplements for welfare, pension, vacation and other benefits. These supplements include hospital, surgical or medical insurance, or benefits; life insurance or death benefits; accidental death or dismemberment insurance; and pension or retirement benefits. If the amount of supplements provided by the employer is less than the total supplements shown on the wage schedule, the difference shall be paid in cash to the employee. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board, is in the best interests of the School District. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the FREEPORT SCHOOL DISTRICT, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see Instructions for Bidders section. Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening. Certified check or Bid Bond in the amount totaling ten percent (10%) of the base bid. questions must be received in writing at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids.
