The following equipment shall be replaced. Scope of Work shall include all Support work / trades required to facilitate the removal and replacement of the listed equipment. The work involved shall include all structural steel work, roof work, electrical work, fire alarm work, DDC control work, ductwork, and ceiling work required to support the removal and installation of new equipment. DEMOLITION: 1. Remove all rooftop multi zone units and curbs serving all classrooms and Media Center, including all ductwork and grills. 2. Remove rooftop units serving Cafeteria, Office Area, Kitchen, Gym, and Single Zone Areas. 3. Remove kitchen hood, exhaust system, and makeup air system. 4. Remove all roof mounted exhaust fans. 5. Remove all electric unit heaters. 6. Remove ceilings and light fixtures in areas impacted by HVAC work. 7. Remove complete HVAC control system. NEW WORK: 1. Install new rooftop RTU's, curbs, ductwork, grills, and fan powered series VAV boxes in classrooms and Media Center. 2. Install single packaged gas rooftop units and curbs with all new ductwork and grilles in the Gym, Cafeteria, Office Areas, Kitchen, Media Center, and Single Zone Areas. 3. Install complete new kitchen hood system up to current code, with fire suppression system. 4. Install new roof mounted exhaust fans. 5. Install new all electric unit heaters. 6. Install new 2 X 2 lay-in ceilings and new LED lights in areas impacted by HVAC work. 7. Install new Trane DDC wireless control system. 8. Install ductless mini splits for all MDF and IDF closets. 9. Install new gas piping on roof along with proper supports. 10. Chesapeake Public Schools plans to pre-purchase all HVAC equipment from Damuth Trane. Chesapeake Public Schools would like to include the Controls package and Equipment Start-up in the General Contract. The right to waive any and all informalities and to determine responsibility of all bidders is reserved to Chesapeake Public Schools. The Owner reserves the right to negotiate any aspect of this Bid with the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. No bid or any part thereof may be withdrawn or canceled or modified for ninety (90) days after the Bid Opening with the exception that Bids may be withdrawn after opening in accordance with the procedures for Withdrawal of Bids in accordance with Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia. Prior to the time and date designated for receipt of Bids, Bids submitted early may be modified or withdrawn. BID SECURITY: A bidder's bond or certified check will be required in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid. Any person / vendor visiting a Chesapeake Public Schools' facility during school hours must check in at the Main Office, follow all school procedures related to school safety, and not provide any disruption to instructional activities. It is strongly recommended that all bidders intending to submit bids for this project attend the pre-bid meeting. If at any time the guidelines for public gatherings are changed, the District will make the necessary adjustments to remain in compliance with Coronavirus safety guidelines.
