Site work for a water / sewer project in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Metropolitan Utilities District will receive sealed bids for furnishing of all supplies, materials, equipment, labor, and superintendence to: Hanover Falls Center Lots 9 & 10, N of 158th St. & State St., WP2043 Pursuant to all Bidding Requirements and the specifications the undersigned agrees, if this proposal is accepted, to furnish all necessary supplies and materials, all construction materials and equipment, except that material furnished by the District, and all labor and superintendence according to the following schedule of approximate quantities and unit prices, to install water mains in Hanover Falls Center Lots 9 & 10, N of 158th St. & State St., WP2043 All water Main Bids will be accepted electronically For questions concerning the Contract Documents, contact Sherri Lightfoot, Director, Procurement at (402) 504-7253 or by email at Sherri_Lightfoot@mudnebr.com. For questions concerning engineering details, contact Nick Clifford, Plant Engineering, at 402-669-5919 or by email at Nicholas_Clifford@mudnebr.com. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the Metropolitan Utilities District in an amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the base bid, including unit price totals, drawn on a bank which is a member of the Federal Reserve System, or by a bid bond in a like amount on the form supplied by the District, and executed by a surety company authorized to engage in such business in the State of Nebraska. The amount of the certified check or bond will be collected and the amount retained by the District as liquidated damages, if the bidder becomes a successful bidder and refuses or neglects to enter into the Contract and to file with the District a satisfactory surety company Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in a sum equal to the full amount of the contract price within ten (10) days after being notified of the award of the Contract. Retention of liquidated damages shall not limit the Districts right to additional damages if the successful bidder fails to perform the contract. Certified checks or bonds will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids. The bid deposit of the three lowest bidders will be returned within forty-eight (48) hours after the executed Contract and surety company bonds have been delivered to and accepted by the District. The District reserves the right to reject any or all the Proposals. Any Proposal which is incomplete, obscure, or irregular may be rejected. Any Proposal having erasures or corrections in the price may be rejected. Any Proposal accompanied by an insufficient or irregular certified check or bond may be rejected. No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of opening of bids. The Contractor shall contact Nick Clifford, Design Engineer, at 402-669-5919 (Nicholas_Clifford@mudnebr.com) a minimum of fourteen (14) calendar days before the Contractor starts any Work to allow sufficient time for the District to notify and coordinate with any parties that may be affected by the Work. The Contractor can proceed with field work upon receipt of written Notice to Proceed from the District. Under no circumstance shall the Contractor begin main installation prior to being a given notice to proceed, and prior to the Contract being executed. The Contractor is to take into consideration that seven (7) calendar days will be required for the District to chlorinate, pressure test, flush and perform bacterial testing of the main before all the chlorine tubes can be removed. The Contractor should also take in to consideration that in the event the pressure test and/or bacterial testing should fail, that it will be necessary to repair the problem, retest and/or reflush, and obtain another bacterial sample for testing and that this will take longer than the seven (7) calendar days stated above and that this time will be counted as part of the work to be completed within the time constraints listed on the Proposal.
