The project is located across the entire length and width of the Old Bacon Creek lined concrete channel and extends approximately 200 feet outside the channel in both directions. The Old Bacon Creek channel is approximately 5,380 linear feet long running from the upstream boundary north of Gordon Drive to just east of Interstate-29 on the downstream boundary and includes the rehabilitation of approximately 5,200 linear feet of the existing 48' interceptor sewer main and associated manholes beneath the Old Bacon Creek lined concrete channel, while replacing, repairing, or abandoning connected sanitary collector mains and private laterals along the section. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. This project has an early start date of 15 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed and a late start date of April 1, 2026. Milestone One (all work north of Leech Avenue) shall be fully completed by June 1, 2027. All work shall be fully completed on the overall project by October 1, 2027.
