The City of Sioux City, Iowa (City) is seeking qualified firms or teams with appropriate expertise to undertake planning, survey, engineering design, and full construction services for the Rehabilitation of the Old Bacon Creek Sanitary Sewer. Consultants will be expected to bring practical design solutions to the discussion and have working knowledge of the rehabilitation of aged utilities under a concrete lined channel. Proposals are being requested to perform survey, engineering design, and full construction services for the Rehabilitation of the Old Bacon Creek Sanitary Sewer. This channel provides important drainage for both sanitary sewer and storm flows for the City. A preliminary engineering study of this portion of the channel has been completed and a copy of this report is available upon written request. This project includes the cleaning and rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer mains, rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer manholes, and the replacement or rehabilitation of sanitary sewer laterals along the Old Bacon Creek Channel. Careful consideration will need to be given due to the condition of the utilities and the existing concrete channel. Consultant services and construction will be funded by FEMA, Iowa Emergency Management, and the City using Water Abated General Obligation Bonds under the Capital Improvement Project Reconstruction of Bacon Creek, Project Number 539-003. The project budget is estimated at $10,000,000.
