The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified contractors to close the existing Ash Pond through both removal and encapsulation of the ash with a geomembrane and protective soil cover; install ash contact water collection system; construct a new RDF Ash Pond with forebays and a geomembrane liner; replace above and below ground portions of the recirculation pipe, extend the sluice pipe, and extend the cooling tower blowdown pipe; miscellaneous earthwork and stormwater management controls for the Electric Services Department. Written questions and requests for exceptions and clarifications are due January 10, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. local time.
