SCOPE OF WORK: a. Surface Preparation The Contractor shall remove all loose mill scale, rust, paint, and other contaminants that may be detrimental to coating application using Society for Protective Coating ("SSPC") Surface Preparation ("SP") standards SSPC-SP-2: Hand Tool Cleaning and SSPC-SP-3: Power Tool Cleaning. b. Products The following Sherwin Williams products or equivalents shall be used and supplied by the Contractor. Refer to Section II.N. Brand Name "Or Equal" Specifications. All brand name equivalent product requests shall be submitted for approval during the question period. Such products will be subjected to content analysis or field testing as appropriate. o Rust areas will be treated with B65S00014 - Corothane(R) I - Aliphatic Finish Coat MIO/Aluminum. o All surfaces coated/primed with B58W00610 - Macropoxy(R) 646 Fast Cure Epoxy and topcoat B65W00611 - Acrolon(R) 218 HS Polyurethane - Gloss applied. o The Sherwin Willams color is 2041-10 Hunter Green. c. Areas Included Surfaces to be prepared and painted: o Concourse overhead steel/decking o (1) roof at luxury suites o (2) large left field and right field upper deck roofs and safety screens o (2) smaller outfield roofs o previously painted railings at seating area o entry ramp railings and screens o steel railings and components in all stairwells o concourse balconies o box and press level steel/decking o blue exterior personnel doors d. Areas Excluded Services are not required at the following: o Outfield fence o Interior spaces (i.e., offices, suites, restaurant) o Bare or not-previously painted railings or metals o Scoreboards o Non-metal surfaces The City of Norfolk ("City") is seeking a responsible vendor to paint Harbor Park according to the terms, conditions, and specifications of this solicitation. Harbor Park, with its outstanding view and sound design, is in downtown Norfolk on the Elizabeth River and was opened in 1993. Harbor Park features almost 9,000 lower deck seats, 2,800 upper deck seats, and 400 seats in 24 luxury skyboxes leased to area corporations. Overlooking left field is a 500-person tiered picnic area. The City requires removal of existing exterior navy-blue paint at Harbor Park and application of the new Tides green color scheme. The Concourse has not been painted in 15 years; other areas as many as 30 years.
